How to Type in Punjabi

Our Punjabi typing / transliteration tool converts English / Latin letters into native Punjabi writing based on how they sound. For example-
tusi kivem ho gets converted into ਤੁਸੀ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਹੋ.
tuhanu dekha ke bahuta caga laga gets converted into ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਦੇਖ ਕੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗਾ.

This typing tool supports fuzzy phonetic conversion. You just type in your best guess of pronunciation in English letters and the tool will match it with the best suggestions. You can also manually select a different word from the list of possible words that are listed.

Typing Tips

• Press space bar or Enter to turn English letters into Punjabi words.
• A number of possible Punjabi words are also given above the textarea.
• If the auto suggested Punjabi word isn't what you wanted, select a different word from the list of words.
• To type a full stop (ਪੂਰਾ ਸਟਾਪ), press the pipe key (|) located in the special characters. This will insert "।" in the textarea.
